Sunday night’s Emmy Awards were full of gorgeous gowns and A-list celebrities. But we have to say, we were just as impressed with the hair and makeup looks we saw on the red carpet! From sleek and straight hair to smoky eyes and nude lips, there was a little something for everyone. Here are our favourite looks from the evening.
1. Zendaya Coleman
Zendaya Coleman always stuns on the red carpet, and this year was no exception. We loved her sleek, straight hairstyle paired with nude lips and smoky eyes. Start by straightening your hair with a flat iron to get this look at home. Then, apply a dark eyeshadow to your lid and lower lash line, blending well. Finally, swipe on some nude lipstick or gloss. Voila! You’re ready to take on the world.
2. Kerry Washington
Kerry Washington is another one of our favourite style stars, and she definitely did not disappoint at this year’s Emmys. We loved her half-up, half-down hairstyle and soft makeup palette. For a similar look at home, start by curling your hair with a large barrel curling iron. Then, brush out the curls to create soft waves. Next, apply a light eyeshadow to your lids and a peachy blush to your cheeks. Finish things off with a coat of mascara and some pink lip gloss or balm. Gorgeous!
3. Viola Davis
Viola Davis is always one to watch on the red carpet, and her Emmys look did not disappoint. We adored her loose updo and natural makeup palette. To get Viola’s look for yourself, start by applying a light foundation all over your face. Then, do a light dusting of bronzer on your cheeks for some extra definition. Next, curl your lashes with an eyelash curler and apply two coats of mascara. Finally, sweep your hair up into a loose bun or chignon at the base of your neck. So pretty!
